the concentration in one person of authority to direct the circulation lived down the effects of the bodies procured was of the greatest contingent & danger.
I was always present at large fires - and it tended to show that so far from there being any clashing of duties as was feared by the General – Mr. Reeves was in far better position for the general control of all extinguishing force - None could properly be Engaged in Command over his being cut off from giving an order to the Fire Brigade under pain of this form or ties to the Sikhs or the Police all assembled on the same spot.
Of course having the undertones is Speaking Certainly from my more experience and it is hopeful that the General may improve as an important force in maturing operations.
